If you already have a Forest Admin admin panel and you'd like to edit or add the user onboarding functionalities, you can skip this part and move to the next steps.

In the first part of the tutorial, you will learn:

  • How to create a project on Forest Admin,

Getting started with Forest Admin only takes a few moments. If you don't have an account yet, go to forestadmin.com and create one.

Now, all you need is to give your new project a name and connect your database.

That's it, your new admin panel has been auto-generated for you 🤩

All the essential functionalities you expect an admin panel to have are already there.

You can add new users, remove them, or manage user data, and sync the changes with the database in real time.

Search box, filters, export and details view on each record are available out-of-the-box as well.

Once you connect a database, a fully functional admin panel is already there! Now it's time to customize it to create a fully-featured user onboarding tool, tailored to your needs. The next step will take you to edit the layout of your admin panel using our WYSIWYG editor 👇 Specifically, you'll learn:

  • How to customize the auto-generated UI to display the customer data in the right order.

  • How to save filters to let your team access segments of data with one click without a need to apply filters each time - e.g. to have a list of accounts that are ready to onboard.
