🔁Automating Processes with Workspaces & Inboxes

If you want your customer onboarding teams work fast and efficiently, with Forest Admin you can be sure they're equipped with the set of tools, which is not only tailored to their needs but also designed with productivity in mind.

Apart from the default view giving access to data and actions, on Forest Admin everyone can build custom micro-apps with a no-code drag-and-drop editor.

At Forest Admin we call these micro-apps Workspaces and they're available to build and edit for everyone with at least the Editor role. Another no-code automation feature is Inbox - an automated queue of records.

This tutorial will teach you how to build and use both. Let's start with Workspaces and built a simple app to perform all the KYC-related actions on one screen.

Build your own KYC tool with no-code

Know-your-customer (KYC) is a set of strict actions required to onboard a user. In this demo project, we created an app that allows KYC analysts to:

  1. Pick a user from the list of users who have recently signed up and are waiting to be onboarded.

  2. Verify their information: name with the passport and the address with the proof of address.

  3. Validate the account if everything is fine or reject if the account looks fake or suspicious.

  4. Perform additional actions like updating the status after reaching out to the user and getting required documents, editing user data or even blacklisting a user if necessary.

Inbox: An automated routing of records

Inbox lets managers define how to automatically route records to operators for better efficiency and productivity, eliminating the guesswork of what to choose.

An Inbox with a KYC flow is an alternative tool to the Workspaces explained above 👆 The main difference is that the Inbox is an automated queue, whereas a Workspace allows analysts to pick any record in any order. It is up to you to decide which tool would be better for your team. Check this tutorial to see how to build a use the Inbox 👇
